The 2024 Boston Marathon will be the 2nd time that I am running as a member of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) team.
I was so inspired by all your support and donations last year, helping me to achieve and exceed my original fundraising goal. I met so many people impacted by cancer and this motivated me to run again this year.
I am running in honor of my wife Sharon, who is a cancer survivor, thanks to the amazing treatment and care that she received. She has dedicated her time to fundraising for Dana-Farber, through handcrafting greetings cards and offering them for donations.
I am running in memory of several family members, who sadly lost their battles with cancer over the last few years.
I am also running in memory of our good friend's daughter, Corinne, who sadly lost her battle, at the age of 18, with an as yet incurable cancer. Funding research towards cures for these types of cancers is vitally important.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research, helping to fight cancer globally.
Unfortunately, everybody knows someone impacted by cancer, but together, we can head towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Thank you for your support!
