Thank you for visiting Terri's page. When Terri was diagnosed with cancer, she immediately put herself in the care of the remarkable team at Dana-Farber. She will not win this battle, but she wanted to make a difference for others who need help in their battle. As an attorney, Terri spent her career helping to resolve or mitigate issues that harm our environment. She has been aware of the mounting problem of disposing of the many drugs used in the treatment of cancer. Her oncologist, Dr. Jean Connors, joins her in this concern and the concern for those cancer patients who cannot afford the drugs they need to combat side effects of the chemo.
In particular, the medicine that prevents blood clots in cancer patients is
often not paid for by insurance companies. Dr. Connors is able to collect that
drug from patients or families, test it to make sure it is safe, and
redistribute it to those patients who cannot afford to purchase the medicine
they need to survive the chemo.
Terri donated $100,000 to create the Terri Seales Family Fund that will
underwrite the work Dr. Connors is doing to make sure these unused drugs help
others and do not end up in landfills or our water system.
