Thank you for visiting my Giving Page to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, on behalf of my sister Judy.
My sister is my light. After my dear lifelong friend Betsy died from Acute Myeloid Leukemia five years ago, I never thought I would hear these words again, “I have AML,” especially from the lips of my beautiful sister.
Judy was diagnosed almost a year ago, while working as a physician during the pandemic. She attributed such symptoms as fatigue, cough and shortness of breath to stress. But it turns out that she has AML. It is a very tough disease, but she was lucky to be treated with months of chemotherapy and not a stem cell transplant. She hopes to stay in remission.
I want to raise awareness, and perhaps even save lives - if others like her pay attention to potentially life-threatening symptoms. To raise funds for essential blood cancer research, being led by Dana-Farber and Judy’s amazing physician Dr. Daniel DeAngelo, please consider donating! Dr. DeAngelo and his team saved my sister’s life. Your contributions will help save more!
Dana-Farber provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults and is home to groundbreaking cancer discoveries. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community efforts to advance Dana-Farber’s mission.
Thank you so much!
