Lemons. Sparkles. Leaves. Beading. Walking with friends. Teaching. Collecting photographs of family. Cooking. Caring for strangers. Talking. Researching. Listening. Gathering. Loving. Loving. Loving.
This January, we lost a pillar of our family and neighborhood. In order to honor Annette, her niece, Lila, will be running a marathon and collecting donations to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. We are hoping to receive at least 26 donations, one for each mile of the marathon. Annette was a dedicated scientist and teacher, and we are proud to be partnering with one of the premier cancer research institutes.
please also leave a comment describing your favorite memory of Annette or of a family member whose life has been affected by cancer. We'll compile these for Annette's family after the marathon.
"Race" day is Saturday, June 19! Lila will start from Exeter, NH around 6 a.m. and end in Salisbury, MA around 11 a.m. (She is slow but persistent!) Friends and family will be stationed along the route to pass out water and cheer her on, and all are welcome to join in the fun at the finish line. Some people will also be running with Lila for a mile or two. If you'd like to join or are interested in seeing the route, please email Lila at lilateeters@gmail.com.
