Thank you for visiting my Giving Page to support Dr. Suzanne George's Sarcoma Cancer Research. I am so fortunate to live in the Boston area and have the best care so close to me. Dr. George is my Oncologist and besides being a wonderful doctor, she is kind and compassionate and I feel like I am in the best hands possible. July is Sarcoma Cancer Awareness Month and the month of my birthday so it seemed appropriate timing to do some fundraising.
Leiomyosarcoma is a relatively rare form of cancer, and it is seen as an aggressive one. There is no standard outcome from treatment since LMS varies widely from case to case and treatments vary as well. This is due to the fact that it appears in different locations and may not spread at all, while other cases of it demonstrate a tendency towards metastasizing. There is a wide range of treatment programs, but no specific protocol due to the ways this disease appears.
I was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma (ULMS) in June 2020 after a routine hysterectomy to remove seemingly normal fibroids. After my initial surgery, I had a second surgery in July followed by chemotherapy from August to October. My scans have been clean since then and I remain under surveillance with scans every 3 months.
Please consider making a donation to Dr. George's Sarcoma Cancer Research.
Thank you all for your love, support and prayers.
