Thank you for visiting my husband Lee Makela's Giving Page to support prostate cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
In lieu of flowers, our family would greatly appreciate donations made in memory of Lee to support Dr. Kerry Kilbridge and Dr. Paul Nguyen’s Research Funds for prostate cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Kilbridge, Dr. Nguyen, and Dr. Chang were Lee's cancer doctors, along with a large team of clinicians & medical staff that cared for him. Lee loved his doctors and the entire team that worked with him. They gave him two and a half more years with me & our son Andrew Finn whom he adored with every ounce of his heart.
Lee was a private person, and did not publicly share his battle with prostate cancer, very few people knew. I know Lee would be honored to have donations made in his name to Dr. Kilbridge & Dr. Nguyen's Prostate Cancer Research.
Dana-Farber provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults and is home to groundbreaking cancer discoveries. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community efforts to advance Dana-Farber’s mission.
