Hero Program

The Hero Program is the heart of the Jimmy Fund Walk! Jimmy Fund Walk Heroes are Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients who volunteer to share their stories and inspire walkers to walk and raise critical funds for cancer research and patient care.

Hero Match Teams

Each Jimmy Fund Walk Hero is matched with a Jimmy Fund Walk team, who walks and fundraises in their honor. Every year, we host the Hero Match Party so Heroes, their families, and Match Team Captains can meet one another. Stay tuned for the 2024 date!

Bob is matched with the Milford DFCI Walk team and is excited to be a Hero this year.

“Having been diagnosed with colon cancer, I have continued chemotherapy at Dana-Farber Milford. I look forward to seeing my grandchildren grow, as I received such wonderful care. I am grateful to be a Hero, but my true heroes are the doctors and nurses caring for me. To help to give back, I plan to encourage walkers at the start line as I did last year.
