Many Jimmy Fund Walk teams are a combination of family, friends, and communities who come together to make a difference. Teams often rally together in honor of a loved one to show their support.
At the time of the Jimmy Fund Walk in 2018, Nixon Clarke (5 years old) had completed 10 out of 25 months of treatment for Leukemia.
“In 2017, when Nixon was diagnosed with leukemia, DFCI provided the best medical care and experiences to both Nixon and our whole family. Once his treatment stablized, we knew we wanted to help and #TeamNixon was born. We had 60 walkers walk with us in Boston and virtually in Australia, our hometown. The walk brought our entire community together and showed our two boys that they were not alone whilst giving back.”
Many companies and organizations start a team or sponsor the Jimmy Fund Walk through a financial or in-kind contribution. The Jimmy Fund staff is available to offer guidance and provide resources every step of the way. Contact Samantha Rose, Corporate Teams Coordinator, to learn more.

Leuk For a Cure was a first-time employee team in 2018.
The Jimmy Fund Walk is important to our team because we have all been affected by cancer. Being able to walk alongside families, survivors and for those that cannot, gave us a way to represent our support and bring awareness to the importance of cancer research.
