Fundraising tips


  • Log in to your Participant Center to customize your fundraising page and URL. Telling your story on your page helps increase gifts.
  • Share your personal URL on social media to ask for support. Social media helps broaden your audience.
  • Check out the Tools in your Participant Center for fundraising resources, important dates, and training and other materials.
  • Watch your inbox for emails from our staff with additional guidance to achieve fundraising success.

  • Fundraising calendars and to-do list
  • “Support My Run” flyers to spread the word
  • Donor reports for stewarding and thanking donors
  • Additional DFMC items available upon request

Fundraising tools


A fundraising project or event is a creative way to supplement fundraising for your run and attract a wide array of potential donors. If you are planning an event or fundraiser, please contact our staff at least four weeks in advance to learn more about our quick and easy approvals process. DFMC staff can help you plan a successful fundraiser by providing resources and materials such as banners, canisters, and more.

Who: Britt Simonson
What: 2020 DFMC Benefit Recital
Where: Boston University Marsh Chapel, Boston MA
When: Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 6 p.m.
Details: A vocal recital of inspirational pieces that capture the spirit of a marathon. Light refreshments will be offered after the performance.

Who: Justin Long
What: Boston Marathon Fundraiser
Where: Fenway Johnnie’s, Boston MA
When: Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Details: Suggested donation of $10 at the door to Justin’s fundraising page. Guests can participate in an opportunity drawing and silent auction with approximately 20-25 prizes from local businesses. The winners will be selected beginning at 8:30 p.m.!

Who: Kathy and Kimberly Newcomb
What: Babysitting for Valentine's Day
Where: Hampton United Methodist Church, Hampton NH
When: Friday, February 14, 2020 from 5 to 10 p.m.
Details: Kathy and Kimberly will be providing babysitting services on Valentine’s Day so parents can have a date night. Fun activities for children include board games, pizza and a movie with popcorn.
