Who can participate in Kick for Dana-Farber?

Any soccer player, soccer coach, or team parent can participate in Kick for Dana-Farber! You can start a team at your school, youth league, club organization, or with a group of friends. You can also join an existing team by selecting “Join a Team” during registration.

I want to participate in Kick for Dana-Farber, but I’m not on a soccer team. Is this allowed?

Absolutely. You can Join a Kick for Dana-Farber team or select the "Give" button to contribute to the program or to a participant.

How will I be notified when someone joins my team by registering online?

To see your team members, log into your Participant Center, click on the “My Team” tab, and scroll to the bottom of the page. Each team member will be listed under “Team Members”. You will also receive notifications via email each time someone joins your team.

Can my club or school have multiple Kick teams?

Yes, your club or school can have as many Kick teams as it wants. However, each team is considered separate when prizes are distributed at the end of the program. Each team should limit their teams to 25 players per team. If you have further questions about team size please email KickforDanaFarber@dfci.harvard.edu.

How do I find my Kick team's page online?

To find your team’s page, log into your Participant Center, click the “Edit Pages” tab, and select “Edit Team Page” from the list. You can also find your team’s page by clicking the “Give” button in the top header of the website and then searching for your team’s name.

How does my individual fundraising page work?

Each participant receives a personal fundraising page. After completing registration, log in to your Participant Center and click on the “Edit Page” tab to update your page with a photo and your personal story. You can then send the URL to your personalized page to friends and family, asking them to contribute to your fundraising. All funds raised on your individual page will count toward your team’s total.

When does Kick for Dana-Farber fundraising end?

To qualify for prizes, all gifts must be received by Dana-Farber by Friday, May 1, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Though they will not count towards prizes, additional funds will be accepted (and encouraged!).

How is the money collected?

We encourage you to collect gifts online through your personal or team’s fundraising page. You can also submit gifts through checks or money orders made payable to “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.” Please mail checks or money orders, with a completed deposit form, to:

What are the prizes?

All contest prizes can be viewed on the Kick for Dana-Farber homepage.

Who is eligible to win prizes?

All proceeds must be received by May 1, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. EST to be eligible for prizes.

How can I spread the word about Kick for Dana-Farber using social media?

Post photos of your team at fundraising events or games on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using #KickForDanaFarber. Tag your teammates to spread the word even more!

I just made a gift by credit card. What will appear on my bank statement?

Your online transaction will appear on your credit card statement as: DANAFARBERJIMMYFND. If the transaction is pending, you may see PENDINGBB appear, which is normal. Should you have any questions regarding what appears on your statement, please email our Donor Services team at askCS@dfci.harvard.edu. What is a matching gift? How do I submit a matching gift?

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage their employees’ support of charitable organizations. Contact your company’s human resources department for information about how to have a gift matched, or search for your company to see if it provides matching gifts to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my gift?

All gifts made online will receive an email confirmation, which includes tax information. Gifts of $15 or more made by check are acknowledged with a letter. For gifts made by check that are less than $15, the cancelled check will serve as your tax receipt.

Is the Kick for Dana-Farber website secure?

Yes. All information submitted online is subject to the Jimmy Fund Privacy Policy. Please read the Jimmy Fund Privacy Policy before submitting any personal information.

How do I opt out of communications?

If you wish to opt out of receiving fundraising mailings from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, please call (800) 525-4669 or visit JimmyFund.org/Opt-Out. If you wish to opt out of email communications, you may also click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Jimmy Fund email.
