In 1948, Einar Gustafson, a 12-year-old patient of Dr. Sidney Farber, took part in a national radio broadcast from his Boston hospital room under the name “Jimmy”. His story inspired thousands of donations to support Dr. Farber’s groundbreaking leukemia research—and the Jimmy Fund was born. The Jimmy Memorial Golf Tournament honors “Jimmy’s” legacy and courage.
Jimmy Fund Golf presented by Mohegan Sun brings together volunteer tournament directors and passionate golfers to conquer cancer through the nation’s oldest and largest charity golf program. In 2018, Jimmy Fund Golf raised more than $8.1 million to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
