ROSIE, 20

Over the past two years, 20-year-old Rosie has had six different types of chemotherapy, 14 brain surgeries, 28 radiation treatments, and has become paralyzed from the waist down, after her diagnosis with diffuse leptomenigeal glioneuronal tumor as a senior in high school. She is still in treatment at Dana-Farber and enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and studying happiness. Despite it all, she shared her happiness widely during the 2023 WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon.

HENRY, 56

Henry travels from Birmingham, Alabama, for treatment of his metastatic prostate cancer. He says he feels like more than a number at Dana-Farber, and despite the challenging reason to have come to Boston, he and his wife, Staci, have grown to love it, and it’s become their favorite city aside from home. They joined WEEI in 2023 to share their experience, and Henry even got to spend some time on the field before the Red Sox game!

NORMA ROSE, 10

Norma Rose was diagnosed with blastoma in February 2019 after experiencing headaches, nausea, and vomiting. She is still in active treatment at Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic, where she loves spending time with the child life specialists and playing board games, Uno, Bingo, and Go Fish!

PATTI, 62

A three-time cancer survivor, Patti was diagnosed in 1960, treated by Dana-Farber’s founder, Dr. Sidney Farber, in 1965, and again by Dana-Farber experts in 2003. Like the original “Jimmy,” Patti’s childhood treatment allowed her to thrive and start her own family, and her daughter and grandson were on hand as she joined the NESN broadcast to share her experience and encourage donors to support Dana-Farber’s mission.
