Never in my wildest dreams, would I have imagined running my 4th consecutive Boston Marathon with Dana Farber. This team has been so inspiring since my family and I joined in 2001. It's been life-changing to be a runner on this team and I am asking for your support again this year!
As you may be aware, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been at the forefront of cancer research, treatment, and patient care for decades. Their commitment to eradicating cancer and improving the lives of those affected by it is both inspiring and vital. With each stride I take along the marathon route, I aim to raise funds to support the Institute's groundbreaking work.
Cancer has touched the lives of so many, including my own. Witnessing the strength and resilience of individuals battling this disease has fueled my determination to contribute to the cause. We are often asked as runners “Why do you Run?” and I am often reminded of the day Joey was diagnosed. I remember when Joey's doctors came into the room to give us his diagnosis. I remember feeling scared, not knowing what they were going to say. I remember getting sick after they told us his diagnosis. I remember them saying those words, "Your son has an astrocytoma". I will never forget the day that changed my life forever. This is why I run.

In 2024, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 128th Boston Marathon®. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
