As you may know, cancer has impacted my family in ways that words cannot describe. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian clear cell carcinoma in 2017, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. For the past seven years, she has been in and out the doors of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute receiving surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and a clinical trial drug treatment. Just years ago, some of these options wouldn’t have even been available, but with the innovative technology and top-level care provided at the DFCI, there is hope for her, and for so many.
In October of 2021, I ran the Boston Marathon for the very first time; and through the efforts of so many generous friends and family, I was able to donate an incredible $40,000 to Dana Farber. The race was a challenge, but after crossing the finish line, I knew in my heart that I wanted to pursue this journey again.
My mom’s battle with cancer and all its side effects is its own challenge; but through her perseverance, she continues to be the biggest inspiration for us all. It has become my mission to devote my time to make a difference in the fight against cancer. As a 2024 charity runner for the Boston Marathon, I have a minimum, yet substantial fundraising commitment of $10,000. Meeting this goal would mean that I will be able to reach a cumulative total of $50,000 donated to the organization so close to our hearts!
Please consider donating to my page to help me reach this goal. 100% of all donations to the DFCI make a difference so that my mom, and others, too, can receive the best treatment, and that we can one day live in a world with no cancer.
