Working for Dana-Farber, I'm grateful to be able to play an indirect role in raising critical funds for the world-class cancer research and care happening there every day. Behind the scenes, the emails I draft, the ads I create, and the social media campaigns I run encourage donations from people around the world. As valuable as that is, I'm ready to play a direct role in the fight against cancer, and that's why I'm running for Dana-Farber in the 128th Boston Marathon this spring.
All of us have been touched by cancer in different ways—I'm running for all of them. In honor of those who are here with us, in memory of those who are with us in spirit, and so that sometime in the future, "cancer" will be just another word.
To me, crossing the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15 means doing my part to bring us one step closer toward crossing the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. Thank you for doing your part by supporting my run. Together, we can defy cancer.
