In April, I will be running the Boston Marathon representing Team Christine and Dana-Farber. Christine Stec, a beloved Mom, wife, family member, friend, and teacher, taught at the elementary school I attended, and I am lucky enough to have been able to know her. I am finishing up my last year of college and am close to becoming an elementary teacher myself. Christine is one of the many teachers from Oakdale Elementary School that I look up to and am inspired by. I hope that when I am a teacher, I am able to embody the many amazing qualities that Christine always showed. I am lucky to know many members of her family as well, and I am honored to have the chance to do this, to show them my support and love for them and Team Christine. When Christine was diagnosed with cancer, “Team Christine” was quickly created and I have been able to witness the amazing things this large group of people have accomplished. I am truly excited to be a part of Team Christine by completing the Dana-Farber Marathon challenge!
