Even as I type these words I don't fully believe them...this October my oldest friend and the most thoughtful and kind person I know was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer with an unknown source. In a matter of hours, lower back pain turned into every mom's nightmare, a new reality filled with the darkest thoughts, uncertainty, daily appointments, tests, hope, bad days, all while pretending everything is normal and fine for three young kids. Normal life would be a luxury for her and her family.
I signed up to run the Boston Marathon on the Dana Farber team because the one thing that brings me hope is that my friend is being treated and cared for by one of the best Cancer Institutes in the world. One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DF team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
I have set a goal to raise $20,000 in hopes that supporting Dana Farber will bring normal back to so many deserving people including my dear friend. I appreciate your donation more than you could ever know and ask that you keep her in your prayers.
Thank you.
