In 2017 at the age of 35, my world came to a standstill when I heard the words "you have breast cancer". But when I heard "we're going to Dana-Farber", I knew I'd be ok. I'm so fortunate that after a clinical trial, double mastectomy, chemo, and hormone therapy, I'm more than OK thanks to Dana-Farber. I’m now a breast cancer ass kicker and survivor, a DFCI employee, and a 5-time Jimmy Fund walk team captain. The innovative research and care Dana-Farber provides to patients like me is truly transforming the way the world prevents, detects, and treats cancer. And it saved my life.
I will be crossing the Boston Marathon finish line in April with my breastie and bestie, Jackie, by my side, 10 days after the 7th anniversary of me crossing the cancer-free finish line. I can think of no better way to celebrate than by raising more money to advance the vision of Dana-Farber – a world free of the fear and burden of cancer.
100% of every dollar raised supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research. Thank you for your support and for hating cancer as much as I do!
In memory of those we lost too soon: Pa, Auntie Patty, Grammy, Bill, Julia, Emma, Hoops, Care Bear.
Now through December 14, proceeds from my Pampered Chef fundraiser will go towards my fundraising goal - consider gifts for yourself, your friends, and your family!
