This April, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 129th Boston Marathon®. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs the course and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. Personally, I will be running for two of my closest friends, Jenna and Kirsten. From Hopkinton to Boston, every step of the way, we carry thoughts of our loved ones and all people affected by cancer!
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
On May 20th, 2024 one of my best friends, Jenna, was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of sarcoma known as PEComa. Since receiving this diagnosis, Jenna has displayed nothing short of bravery, strength & resiliency every single day. No matter what has been thrown her way, she tackles it head on with the utmost grace.
Going through this journey alongside Jenna has not only inspired me, but has also impressed me. I am in absolute awe of her individual strength, and by the care she has received at Dana Farber since day one. Dana Farber has provided Jenna with an unbelievable level of care where she is supported, heard and understood. It brings me comfort to know that Jenna is in the best hands. Her doctors and nurses are using the most up to date and innovative treatments possible for her sarcoma.
No gift is too big or too small. Any donation would be greatly appreciated by not only Jenna and myself, but also for all of the other patients and caretakers who receive care at Dana Farber.
Thank you so much for your support!
Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
