A note from Ian:
Last year, my sister Madeleine (aka "Mad Dog") completed her second full Ironman triathlon, rode 3,700 miles on her bike, ran a 40-mile loop around Mt. Hood, got married, and generally kicked every ass in her way.
This year, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, finished 16 rounds of chemotherapy, gave birth to her first child, and generally kicked every ass in her way.
Next year, as Madeleine continues down the long road towards recovery, I'll return to Hopkinton to join hundreds of Dana-Farber athletes running the best race on earth--the 129th Boston Marathon®. One hundred percent of every dollar I raise will support the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Mad Dog inspired me to start running, and inspires me to push harder every day. I hope you'll join me in honoring her--and those affected by cancer in your life--in this way. I'm deeply grateful for your generosity.
