This April, I will run the 129th Boston Marathon to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This cause is incredibly personal to me, as I’m running in honor of my sister, who overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma thanks to the exceptional care she received at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Their care provided comfort and support to her and to our entire family.
Speaking with my sister, she recalled the times at Dana-Farber that brought her comfort during her chemo treatments. These included small moments like someone donating ice cream to the cancer ward or even just receiving a box of second hand hats. Every donation matters and makes a difference in the lives of those fighting cancer. In my sister's words: “No matter how much you’re able to donate, I can promise you sometimes the smallest donations can make the biggest difference.”
