Dear friends,
On April 21, 2025, I will be running the 129th Boston Marathon® for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) in memory of my father who passed away 18 years ago at the age of 56 because of cancer. He didn't even get to attend my younger brother and sister's wedding, and never had the opportunity to meet any of his grandkids.
All funds—a full 100 percent—raised by DFMC benefit the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, widely recognized as one of the largest and most successful programs of its
kind. Based on a rigorous and highly selective process, the program funds the brightest, most creative scientists making basic research discoveries that are transforming cancer treatment. Claudia Adams Barr Program Investigators have made numerous major breakthroughs resulting in improved survival rates and quality of life for thousands of patients everywhere.
My personal goal is to raise $15,000 towards our team goal of $8.5 million! Dana Farber institute honors company matches. Please put the following in your match request and your company match will attribute to my fundraising campaign.
- DFMC
- Participant ID: 2695089
- Chiman Lock
Here is instruction to submit for company matching to multiple your donations.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
With gratitude,
Chiman (Joan)
