This April, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 129th Boston Marathon®. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way. 

I am fundraising and running for Dana-Farber in honor of my late grandmother, Beverly. I never had the opportunity to meet my grandmother as she passed one month before my mother gave birth to my older sister Grace. When Bev was diagnosed at age 54 with Stage 4 colon cancer, she fought bravely. She had longed looked forward to becoming and experiencing the joy of grandparenting. Through my mother, Terri, and my grandpa, Howard, we were taught the ways of Bev. She was crafty, spunky and had a passion for life ... I would give anything to get to spend 5 minutes in a room with her. I am running this race for her and raising funds in hopes cancer research and screening awareness will give others their opportunity to experience life and all of its wonderful milestones.

As a Bostonian transplant, 2025 marks my 10th anniversary living in this dynamic city and adopted hometown. For the past 10 years I have felt the power and pride of this town swell within me. I am passionate and fiercely proud to be a part of this town and community. For all that Boston has given me, it's my turn to give back to Boston. 

 
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
 

Thank you for donating and supporting my fundraising goal of $10,000 for Dana-Farber and to honor my grandmother, who would be turning 90 in 2025. Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
