A little about us - we are running the Boston Marathon for the Dana Farber Cancer Team, a bucket list item that came up after Jamie was diagnosed with Lymphoma in September. The team name "Bucket List for Blood Cancers" stands for our family members who have all had to deal with this awful disease.
Our team includes: Hannah DeCelles, Jamie Eastman, and Meggie Gildea.
Meggie and Hannah became friends at UVM in 2013, and after enduring a long distance friendship for the last 7 years they are finally on the same coast. Meggie and Hannah have been on adventures, biking and skiing their way across the country. Through it all, they've become even closer as friends.
After dating for more than 6 years, Jamie and Hannah married in 2021. Their relationship has conquered deployments, cross country moves, pandemics, and now a cancer diagnosis. Through it all they remain steadfast and committed as a couple.
Through all of life's ups and downs, this trio of friends have seen the highest of highs, and lowest of lows. We consider ourselves lucky to share this bond and know that this movement is just the start of something even bigger.
On Marathon Monday, the three of us will run together and check this race off of our "Bucket List". Life is short, get busy living it!
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
