On April 15, 2024, I will run in my 13th consecutive Boston Marathon to raise funds for cancer research. I run as a sister, grand-daughter, sister-in-law, friend, doctor and researcher who has been affected by cancer.
I run for my sister Amie who is 15+ years lymphoma-free. I run for my patient partner, Ben, who battles skin lymphoma. I run for Liz, my amazing sister-in-law, who succumbed to metastatic breast cancer in February of 2020. I run for my teammates – those we have lost and those who battle on. I run for their families and all families like them. Research is the reason Ben and Amie are alive. It’s the reason Liz was given 2 years more than anyone expected. Still, so much work is left to be done. EVEN MORE funds raised means EVEN MORE research. For someone, that means they are given 3 extra years…or 4 or best yet, A CURE.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research. Thank you for your support!
