Living a block from Mile 17 on the Boston Marathon route, I have been inspired watching thousands take to the streets each April to complete the world's oldest annual marathon.
When I learned that the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute fields a team of runners who help raise funds to support their mission, I decided to sign up. So, on April 15th, I'll be running the Boston Marathon -- 26.2 miles, from Hopkinton, Massachusetts to Boston.
I've never run a race before, but like all of us, I have family, friends, colleagues, teachers, neighbors, and so many more who have been impacted by, or tragically lost to, the scourge of cancer. I am running to honor all of them and to support Dana-Farber, a world leader in the research and treatment of adult and pediatric cancer, based right here in Boston. I would be proud to represent your support too.
Every donation counts -- $5, $10, or more -- and 100% of the funds go directly to cancer research.
I'll also make you a deal: I'll match up to $250 of every donation received!
Please consider donating, and let's run together toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
