Salvatore P. Russo (Sal)

March 17, 1924 – October 20, 2021 (age 97)

Salvatore P. Russo (Sal), 97, of North Massapequa passed away on Wednesday October 20, 2021. Sal was born on March 17, 1924 to Anthony and Mary Russo in Brooklyn, New York. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Russo whom he married in February of 1968. Sal had a long and successful career in manufacturing at Ullman Company where he met Catherine in 1948.

Sal was a devoted Husband, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He served his Country honorably during World War II where he fought to liberate Europe until the end of the war in 1945.

For many years, Sal could be found on weekends in the Pocono Mountains enjoying time with family at his vacation home. Later in life, he became a loyal Yankees fan and never missed watching a game. A kinder and more humble gentleman, you will not find in the world.

He is preceded in death by Catherine, his wife of 23 years, his brothers Louis and Tony (Junior), his sister Lucy Castiglia and his parents.
