Thanksgiving November 2022 Update

In keeping with the Thanksgiving season, I wanted to share an update with those who were so generous in donating to Kathy's Light earlier this year.  What a beautiful gathering of family and friends this past June at the Parting Glass to remember and celebrate our beloved Kathy.  With a heart full of gratitude for your love of Kathy and overwhelming giving spirit, I thank you!

Together, we raised $14,520 toward ovarian cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Kathy.  What a tremendous display of love for an incredible woman and the life she lived!  To those of us privileged to know Kathy, she was a unique light in our world and is forever in our hearts.  She is deeply missed but never forgotten.  Thanks to your generosity the Dana-Farber team led by Kathy’s physician, Dr. Susan Campos, will use the funds for furthering ovarian cancer research to create a hope for a better future for ovarian cancer patients – helping to ensure the loved women in our lives remain in our lives.

Below is a picture of Kathy’s Mom and I presenting the proceeds raised from Kathy’s Light to Dr. Susan Campos (left) and Dr. Ursula Matulonis (right), chief of the division of Gynecologic Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Also attached is a link to the most recent Dana-Farber Impact newsletter (Late Fall 2022) that references our fundraising effort associated with Kathy’s Light (page 18).

Lastly, Giving Tuesday is upcoming on Tuesday, November 29th.   In 2021, 35 million people participated in Giving Tuesday and that is expected to increase this year.  If so inclined to give to a charity this year, I thank you in advance for considering Kathy’s Light.
