Welcome to the 3rd annual "Storm the Castle" 10k walk for 'Big' Greg. We walked around the track over 1200 times for over 300 miles (not even including all the virtual walkers and runners), raised over $2600 last year for cancer research. Let's do it again!
As may of you know, on January 13, 2020 the man, the myth, the legend 'Big' Greg lost his 2 1/2 year battle with small cell lung cancer. Before he was diagnosed he was running 6 miles a day at 58 years young, a few of these runs he did with a collapsed lung, not knowing of course that the disease already had a hold of him. Hence the 10k, instead of a measly 5k, to honor him.
Last year friends and family came out to celebrate the life and memory of Greg by walking around the track 24 times equalling his run of 6 miles all while taking pictures, videos, sharing stories and making new memories. We would once again like to invite you all to join us with any new friends or family you have accumulated within the last year.
Being busy throughout the year is not a new concept. We all have obligations and work and situations that get in the way of seeing family/friends or even just reaching out to say "hey". We are hoping that this will be a great reason to see extended family and old (in both sense of the word;) friends we don't get to see because of the above reasons.
Hope to see you all there.
