Being diagnosed with cancer at any age is awful. Being diagnosed at 36 while looking at your 1-year-old and 3-year-old and wondering what this will mean for them is gut-wrenching. And then being diagnosed with a second primary cancer less than 2-years later – literally, no words to describe it. The past 2.5 years have been challenging for all of us due to COVID, however, receiving 2 separate primary cancer diagnoses for me during those same 2.5 years – has changed my daughter's life, my son's life, my husband's life, and clearly mine.
I am 39 years old, I am a wife, I am a mother and now I also wear the badge of “survivor”.
As my husband and I discussed my upcoming milestone birthday plans, I decided to finally find a way to turn all the “cancer bad” into something good.
For my 40th birthday, I am partnering with Dana Farber Jimmy Fund to host a 40th Birthday Benefit Bash this Fall 2023 in which ALL fundraising will go directly to Dana Farber Jimmy Fund young-onset colorectal cancer & breast cancer research and patient support.
Please help me with my mission of turning the past 2.5 years of diagnoses, treatments, anxiety, and more into the catalyst that helped all of us change people's lives forever!
