Hi Comic art fans! It’s Sy Barry.
Many of you may know me as the artist behind The Phantom daily comic strip for 33 years.
In response to a common interest to provide inspiration for children battling serious illnesses, I've formed Draw for Life, a committed group of accomplished artists and friends that recognizes and supports art as an important tool to help hospitalized children and teens cope with difficult circumstances.
Right now I’m working with a group of talented artists to raise funds for the Pediatric Activity Program Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston USA.
I take personal interest in the success of this fundraising effort not only because my heart goes out to patients in need, but because I’m a patient of Dana-Farber myself. I’ve also done several "Chalk-Talks" for the Jimmy Fund Clinic patients and I’ve been blown away by their courage and positivity.
Please join me and a slew of international comic artists from July 1st through July 8th for an on-line comic art auction to benefit the grateful patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute /Jimmy Fund.
Get involved with the auction or make a valuable donation! I appreciate any help you can offer. Together, let’s make this fundraiser a success.
Sincerely,
Sy
