If you can't relate to that statement, count yourself as a very lucky person. So many of us are affected by cancer, either directly, by suffering ourselves, or indirectly, by watching someone close to us suffer. Some are lucky enough to survive the cancer due to advances in modern medicine that are helping to find cures or early diagnoses to help increase the survival rates. However, some cancers just can't be found early enough. My mom was taken too young by one of these, Pancreatic Cancer.
I have lost friends and family members to pancreatic, lung, liver, stomach, and breast cancer. I have known people who have fought testicular and ovarian cancers. Basically, cancer is everywhere, and we need to find a way to fight it. We need to find a cure. To do this, we need to help support wonderful institutions such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who helps both support those who are suffering and funds the research to help them fight.
This event supports the Jimmy Fund which raises money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
When you participate or make a gift, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can conquer cancer!
