Her resilience in battling the rare cancer NUT carcinoma is a powerful testament to her exceptional fortitude and relentless courage.
Allie's medical team in her home in New York City was led by Dr. Jamie Chaft, Dr. Bernard Park, Dr. Daniel Gomez, Dr. Alessia Pedoto, and Dr. Mohit Chawla of Memorial Sloan Kettering. Allie also participated in clinical trials based in Boston led by Dr. Jia Luo of Dana Farber and Dr. Christopher French of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Allie and her family were also advised throughout her treatment by Dr. Brendon Stiles, Dr. Ashok Muniappan, and Dr. Tamar Nobel. Allie was supported by many nurses and nurse practitioners including Nicole Iuliucci, Stephanie Canty, and Simone Becker. This world-class team of medical professionals along with many others helped treat Allie from her diagnosis in April 2023 to her passing on March 12, 2024, at the age of 37.
NUT Carcinoma is one of the most aggressive cancers known in humans, with a median prognosis of 6 months and a median age of diagnosis of 34 years old - this disease often devastates young families.
