WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Scott Edwards, Senior Science Writer/Proposal Writer, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 25 following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband to Susan (Van Splinter) Edwards, and devoted father to his children Matthew, Nicholas, Allison, and his future daughter-in-law Kelsey Flanagan (Nicholas). A beautiful tribute to Scott can be found here: https://hollistonreporter.com/2024/05/scott-philip-edwards/.

Scott joined the Division of Philanthropy at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund in 2013. Every day, without exception, he made a profound difference in our Division’s ability to translate complex science into compelling narratives. Faculty considered Scott an extension of their team, and he was at the heart of ours. He took on any assignment with grace, drafted impeccable content, and met hard deadlines time and time again. Scott was always present and in your corner through the best and hardest of times. There was no one better to talk with about Boston sports.

As a Division, and colleagues across as the Institute, we are coming together to name a gene in Dana-Farber’s Gene Display in Scott’s honor. We invite you all to make a gift toward this lasting tribute.
