Thank
you for visiting Meghan McCarthy's Giving Page to support the Meghan McCarthy
Research Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The Meghan McCarthy Research Fund was created in 2011 to further
research in high grade pediatric brain tumors and to advance the search for a
cure for all cancers. This fund is directly supporting research conducted by
investigators in the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program at Dana-Farber.
Meghan was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme on June 3rd, 2007. On that
day she joined the ranks of about 12,500 children diagnosed with cancer that
year. She was just fourteen years old. She had an inoperable brain tumor and
was given the unimaginable news that she would have two weeks to two years to
live. Meghan died on January 19, 2010 at the age of seventeen.
Due to the nature of her disease not much public research funding is available.
We want to change that and create hope for future patients with this dreadful
disease.
Help us expand Meghan's Miracle by donating to the Meghan McCarthy Research
Fund. Now is the time to find a cure for this deadly disease.
