The family of Amy Chiu created this giving page to raise funds for ovarian cancer research.
Amy Chiu was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May of 2021. She went through months of aggressive chemo treatments at Dana-Farber up until the very end. Throughout the treatment she remained very strong and active just as she has been all her life. It wasn't until the last few weeks that her health started to decline drastically and all of a sudden. She lost her ability to walk and eat, which were two of the things she loved to do the most. On February 9th, 2022 she passed away peacefully and comfortably with her husband Ching-Sang Chiu by her side at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
She was full of life and energy, but her life was taken from her too early. She was always so outgoing and loved traveling the world with family and friends. Her vibrant energy was so infectious that she would leave an impression on anyone she would meet.
Amy was a devout and faithful Catholic dedicating her life to serving the Lord. She was a Catechist teaching younger children, a member of the Legion of Mary and was always helping out with various duties at Saint James the Greater Church in Boston.
Amy was both a loving wife to Ching-Sang and loving mother to her only son Harry. But beyond that she was an angel sent from heaven to touch the lives of so many more.
We wanted to share this story of Amy not just a memorial to celebrate an amazing person, but also to help raise money for ovarian cancer research so we can do our best to prevent others from needing to suffer from this ugly disease. As the selfless person that Amy was, this is exactly what she would want.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated not just to us and Amy, but to everyone out there who may be or could become affected by ovarian cancer. If you'd like to read Amy's full obituary, feel free to check it out here.
