In the fall of 2021, Sherry was diagnosed with Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer. I guess you could say that during those dark days in September and October is when this battle became personal.
Since then, we have been blessed with the care she has received at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dr. Matthew Yurgelun and the caring staff there have offered amazing, compassionate support and treatments including hormone injections and chemotherapy throughout the first year of this battle. The positive news is that we have a plan that we are following to "live with cancer" thanks to the research and developments made in the fight against this disease. We continue to go to Boston once a month for treatment and will need to do so on a continuous basis.
As Sherry and I celebrate our November birthdays and reflect on the journey since last fall, we find ourselves feeling so very blessed and wish to "pay it forward" by making a difference through starting a fundraising campaign to raise funds for Dana-Farber in the hope of continued advancements in treatments to fight cancer including this rare cancer that is on the rise.
Throughout this past year, the love and support of our family, friends, and colleagues has been immeasurable at every turn. As we now take on our effort to help make a difference, we are hoping you will join us if you can by supporting this cancer research through a donation to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Every dollar raised helps us drive to this goal.
Thank you for visiting our fund raising page.
With an Abundance of Love & Thanks,
John and Sherry
