In March of 2023, Meghan was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive cancer; BRD4-NUT Carcinoma. Meghan fearlessly fought her cancer diagnosis with tenacity, kindness, and positivity. Although incurable, Meghan elected to participate in a trial that provided much-needed data to future patients diagnosed with this aggressive disease. Despite many setbacks, Meghan continued the trial until she succumbed to her disease. On July 21, 2023, Meghan Belinda Cianelli Bennett, 38, lost her fight with BRD4-NUT Carcinoma and passed peacefully in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family.
To honor Meghan's life and courageous struggle with this very rare, extremely aggressive, and relatively unknown cancer, her family is asking, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made in Meghan's honor so future families do not experience the heartache and loss of losing a family member to this cancer. All donations made in Meghan's honor will not only bring awareness to BRD4-NUT Carcinoma, but will also be utilized to develop treatments and increased survivability for future patients.
