WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Dedicated to supporting the world’s largest NUT Carcinoma Patient Registry. The Registry is a foundational tool to study NUT Carcinoma and develop better treatments for patients with this disease.

NUT Carcinoma is a rare and aggressive disease with treatment options limited to chemotherapy and/or surgery. The NUT Carcinoma Registry collects patient demographic and treatment information as well as samples (such as tumor biopsies, blood samples, etc.). This repository is leveraged by researchers and clinicians to study the disease biology and determine new treatment strategies that improve patient outcomes. It provides information essential to developing new clinical trials for NUT Carcinoma patients while promoting an increased standard of care for patients.

The NUT Carcinoma Registry enables Dana-Farber to be competitive in federal grant applications from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This Registry is the first of its kind for NUT Carcinoma. It allows researchers to take a deep dive into a full dataset of known NUT Carcinoma cases. The Registry is the precise type of high-quality resource that the NIH looks for when awarding grants and thus is instrumental in an investigators’ ability to secure substantial federal grants.

Thank you for supporting Dana-Farber’s mission to conquer NUT Carcinoma. All gifts to this Giving Page will enable the innovative research being done every day at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center to find a cure for NUT Carcinoma.
