WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Thank you for visiting Tiernan's Giving Page to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. The previous page was updated and the $27,753 that was raised through it is now on this new updated page. We, his family have set this page up in his memory and all donations go directly to the Jimmy Fund.

Tiernan was diagnosed with an astrocytoma (brain tumour) in 2003 and from that day forward lived life with dignity and positivity as he climbed hill after hill. Tiernan loved life, achieved so much personally and academically, he always was and always will be a positive influence, inspiration and source of strength in our lives.

Fundraising Events

*Lenihans Pub Table Quiz

Tiernan's close friends organised a fun night in his honour. There's no doubt that T would have had a fantastic night and over 2000 euro was raised! Our thanks goes to all those who organised the night especially Tom and all the staff in Lenihans, those who donated prizes and to all those who took part in the quiz.

*Niamh Kavanagh's Mini Marathon Run

Tiernan's cousin Niamh ran the Flora Mini Marathon on his honour this year and raised over a thousand dollars in the process on her Jimmy Fund Run page. A huge congratulations to Niamh and thank you to everyone who supported her.

*Four Peaks Challenge

The August Bank Holiday weekend of 2014 Tiernan's friends and family climbed the highest peaks on each of the provinces. That's 4 peaks in 3 days! 13 people climbed all 4 mountains and 21 did the last mountain, with many more that would have loved to be there. Congratulations to everyone on achieving this great feat!

Tiernan lived life always hoping and we believe that now his tumour cells in the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the money raised in his memory on this Jimmy Fund page can go on to give hope to others.
