Thank you for visiting my Giving Page to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
On October 13th I will be running the B.A.A Half Marathon in memory of my Aunt & Godmother, Denise Brooks Allen.
Denise was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in November of 2006 and over the course of 9 years she endured 2 stem cell transplants, multiple clinical trials and countless rounds of chemotherapy at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Throughout every day of Denise’s battle, she succeeded in always maintaining an incredibly positive attitude and showing amazing strength. More importantly, the love of life she is so well known for never wavered – frequently demonstrated by the use of her famous catch phrase, "Giddy Up!"
"You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and the manner in which you live". Dana-Farber gave Denise the opportunity to live by this statement and it gave our family the most important thing we needed, time. It is an organization my family and I are forever grateful for.
I am raising money so Dana-Farber can continue to give the expert, compassionate care to present and future patients the way they did for my Aunt.
