WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

When it gets tough I always say " keep your head up,  there's more air up here!" .   However,  it helps to keep your head up knowing that someone is going to be there to comfort you.   I remember back when I used to run track,   I could always count on my mom being there (obnoxiously  close) at the finish line.   Win, lose or draw she'd still be cheering and smiling,  so proud, every single time.   No matter how I felt about my performance that day,  deep down it was always the best feeling to know that I had someone who loved me so much by my side.    My mom was the kindest,  most caring,  and most selfless person I have ever known.    She put up the  strongest fight against Breast Cancer and I know she would be honored if we would continue her fight and prevent other from having to go through what she went through .

Originally this page was created to created to raise money in alongside an event  called Treads for Change.  Treads is an event hosted by Barrys Bootcamp  where friends and family rally together in the Red Room  to raise money for a charity close to their heart .  The challenge  was for participating teams to show up on (March 14  2020) with their best and most spirited efforts and  keep their team's  treadmill running for 5 continuous hours!  Due to Covid-19 the event has been postponed but I will never stop in my efforts to cure Breast Cancer!

My formal fundraising team is called " Give A Hoot", team "hoot" for short and we will continue to serve our community and by creating and participating in charitable events to support our cause!

The funds raised from this page are going directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where eighty-nine cents of every dollar raised will go directly towards the fight against cancer.   Dana- Farber provides world class and treatment to children and adults battling cancer and is a leader in research to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases.
