I’ve decided to honor my mom in a way of buying a display at her place of work, The Dana Farber Cancer Institute. It will include her name & a passage of our choosing. We can give her this display with donations, we need $2,000 to be able to save her spot and it will begin construction winter of next year. It’s taken me a long time to be able to write this and start this page, my mom passed one year (and one day) ago.
I cant quite muster up the words to explain how I feel, all I can say is that my mom loved her job. She loved helping people, she loved working and she loved the people she worked with. When I first visited her at Dana Farber, she gave me a tour and one of her most favorite parts was the Gene Display. She thought it was a beautiful way to honor those who had fought for their lives. My entire life I watched my mom work hard for everything she had & for my brother & I to have an incredible life. My mom put her heart into everything she ever did, she stood up for herself & those around her. She stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves.
At this point, I’m not 100% sure what I’d like to have the display to say. It’s hard to come up up the words I feel in just a couple of sentences. If anyway has any ideas please feel free to reach out to me.
