WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Thank you for visiting Ellie’s Mitzvah Project Giving Page to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

With my Bat Mitzvah approaching, it was suggested that I do a Mitzvah Project. What’s a Mitzvah Project? A Mitzvah Project is an important and meaningful way to express values of being a Jew, such as doing good deeds, helping and caring for others.

I wanted to do something for my Mitzvah Project that really means something to me. Cancer is a horrible disease that affects so many people and families. This past January my Grandpa passed away after battling cancer. I created this Giving Page in honor of him, and also in memory of too many other loved ones who I’ve lost to this disease.

I wasn’t sure how I could make a difference, so I reached out to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I wanted to do something thoughtful and meaningful, like putting together care packages or gift baskets for patients or their families, but my options were limited because of the Pandemic. Then I learned that I could set up a direct Giving Page through Dana-Farber.

Dana-Farber provides expert, compassionate care to affected children and adults and is home to groundbreaking cancer discoveries. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community efforts to advance Dana-Farber’s mission.

Please consider donating to Dana-Farber through Ellie’s Mitzvah Project Giving Page. All money raised goes directly towards cancer care and research. I miss my Grandpa so much and my hope is that one day they find a cure to conquer cancer.

Love,

Ellie
