WHY WE ARE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND
There are few families who haven't been touched by cancer, and our families are no exception.
In March of 2018, after a week of feeling "off", Sara's niece, Maeve, went to the pediatrician and was immediately sent to Children's Hospital Boston, where she was diagnosed with leukemia. She was just 13 years old, so she became a patient of The Jimmy Fund Clinic, the pediatric arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It would be the start of years of treatment that included chemotherapy, cutting-edge immunotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant.
Maeve not only had the benefit of lifesaving care at one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research and treatment centers, she had the added benefit if being treated with incredible care and compassion by The Jimmy Fund Clinic doctors, nurses, and staff. The Jimmy Fund Clinic describes itself as a place where children and their families find hope, and we know this to be true.
We are thrilled that Maeve is healthy and will celebrate our special day with us, and we wish to celebrate the great work of The Jimmy Fund. Than you for your support!
