Thank you for visiting the Rees Family Giving Page to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, specifically the work of Jeanne's oncologist, Dr. Jacob Sands.
Jeanne goes to great lengths to support those in her life as a sister, wife, mom, grandmother, friend and teacher to the many students she taught over her career. She does charity walks that benefit the Herren Project and protests for causes that she is passionate about. Jeanne cared for her granddaughter Laila throughout the pandemic during the day, and then would tutor AP calculus over Zoom at night. She truly never stops helping others.
Now it is time to support Jeanne. Already a four-time cancer survivor, she is currently battling stage IV lung cancer. Sam, Jeanne's younger son, and his wife Jill have set a goal to collectively swim a marathon - 26.2 miles - in open water between August 8 - September 29 in Jeanne's honor. All funds raised will benefit the critical research conducted by Dana-Farber's Dr. Sands.
Jill kicked off the swim on August 8th, with a half-mile swim at Hale Reservation and they will keep you updated on their progress to their goal on this page and via Instragram.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support,
The Rees Family
