On Sunday, October 4, we will participate in the Jimmy Fund Walk to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We are walking in loving memory of Larry Alexander, who received extensive treatment from Dana-Farber for a rare blood disorder until his death in November 2012, and in honor of many others who have been affected by cancer.
This year’s Walk will look quite different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we cannot gather along the Boston Marathon route as we usually do, participants will be creating their own routes. Our team will be walking a variety of distances “virtually” from around the country.
Although the Jimmy Fund Walk is virtual this year, the need for funding is greater than ever. COVID-19 has significantly impacted everyday operations at Dana-Farber. Funds raised by the Jimmy Fund Walk will help to support Dana-Farber’s increased needs for PPE, telemedicine technology, and additional staffing to keep their cancer patients safe and prevent infection, as well as their efforts to relieve pressing financial strains felt by patients and their families.
We hope you will join our team and walk with us on October 4 in memory of Larry or in honor of others who have been affected by cancer. Just click the “Join Our Team” button at the top and walk any distance, anywhere!
Or, please consider making a gift to this phenomenal institution. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
