Our team starts at virtually every distance on the course. Morgan and Harry started at 5:30 a.m. in Hopkinton last year. Two others started from there a bit later. Other team members started at Wellesley and Newton. The heat was difficult, but nothing compared to what NET cancer patients face. We walk until there is a cure.
WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
There is no reliable way to test for NET cancer. There is no way to cure it if it is not discovered very early. The only treatments we have slow it down and ease the suffering of the patients fighting it.
In the early 2010s, the families and friends of three patients came together to fight this disease. Others have joined us since. We've funded a lot of research and walked a lot of miles. We've hosted golf tournaments, dinners, and craft fairs. We've written letters urging people to donate. Our Walk t-shirts look like NASCAR driver suits.
We've seen NET cancer up close. We've lost family members and close friends. We know it has to die or others will. We will walk until it does.
No one walks alone.
