WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Yes, I will....how do you finish that sentence?  You will walk in 2020?  You will complete a half?  You will raise $1000?  You will walk for your mom?  You will make this the first of many?  We each have our own way to finish this statement.  There is no wrong answer!

The photo above is from 2015.  It is repeated every year at the finish at Copley Square.  Every one of those ribbons has a name on it.....a friend, a sibling, a parent or other family member who was struck by cancer.  Some made it and some didn't.  We walk to that more will make it every year.

We won't be in Boston this year, but we will still take to the streets and do our best to support Dana Farber.  

I am late getting started, but if two people sign on, that's better than just my efforts.  Whether you walk 3 miles in a 5K, 6 miles in a 10K, 13 miles in a half, 26 miles in a full marathon, or just around your block, it doesn't matter.  What matters is that you are out there helping to raise funds for DFCI.  

The minimums are a snap to accomplish $25 for kids and $100 for adults.  You will be surprised by how generous folks are as soon as they hear that you are walking for Dana Farber.  

How lucky we are to have this facility with the world renowned medical team right here in our backyard.  By participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!

Your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.

If you would like to join the team, you can do that from Vermont or Massachusetts or California...Perhaps we will walk together, or maybe we will be on our own, it matters little.  Drop me a line and let's see if we can connect for Walk Day.
