This year is different.
That's an understatement.
Our Palliative Care Team has walked in the Jimmy Fund Walk for several years. Our day to day work is taking care of Dana-Farber's cancer patients who have symptoms so distressing they need to be admitted to the hospital.
Often this is debilitating pain, but there are other symptoms that take our patients our of their routine live. Our goal is to treat these symptoms, and get the patients back to their lives, back to their treatments, back to their families. Our team of doctors, nurse, physician assistants, chaplains, social work, care coordinators, personal care assistants and the staff that keep our hospital clean, are what make us able to do the great work that we do.
By donating to our team and our walkers, you make this work possible. Even though we make walk alone or in small groups rather than a large group this year, we know we are not alone.
Thank you for supporting our team in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can make our patients better!
